Sure you could run to the nearest dog store or even a major department store and buy a dog house that is already pre-made, but what fun would that be?
For my son’s 10th birthday last year we made it a family project to head to the supply store and purchase all of the dog house supplies that we would need to make a dog house.
Although my son was confused because we didn’t actually own a dog, he still was very happy to be out with his Dad on a sunny Saturday afternoon hammering away at this neat little “playhouse”, so he called it. Once we were finished he was pleasantly surprised that his Mother had a brand new puppy waiting for him as his birthday present.
